ABUJA — Barely 24 hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC, told the nation that it was ready for the February 14, 2015 presidential election, the commission has again said that it would brief the nation today on whether or not the the polls would hold as originally scheduled.

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI, has kicked against the calls in some quarters for the postponement of February 14 elections. Speaking during LCCI council’s meeting, the president of LCCI, Alhaji Remi Bello, said the council noted that such a move would have significant negative consequences on investors’ confidence, the economy, and the stability of the polity, adding that, the credibility of the electoral process could also be put at risk.
