PORT HARCOURT—Rivers State Police Command, yesterday, confirmed the discovery of the corpse of Dr. Samson Okpara, who was kidnapped last week in a cassava farm at Borokiri area of Port Harcourt.

No fewer than six staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Abia State are now helping the police in their investigation over the discovery of scores of permanent voters’ card, PVC, in the house of a criminal suspect in Isiala Ngwa South of the state.

I know this is controversial, and might even be a taboo subject, and I might even be accused of generalising, but next time you happen to be sitting next to a Nigerian woman, have a close look at her head or hair. She is either wearing a wig, a weave or something else to hide the true state of her hair and scalp.

Okay, we know the most common one: most women lie about the “O” word. But there are other things besides that the modern woman lies about. Very often!

BY its admission, more than one million permanent voters’ cards have been stolen from the Indepen-dent National Electoral Commission, INEC, which prefaces this story with the trite line that the cards are useless since only their authentic owners could use them. INEC should get wiser as the thefts continue.
