LAFIA—Nasarawa State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is currently embroiled in crisis over alleged mismanagement of N200 million campaign fund released by President Goodluck to the party for campaign.
Investigation revealed that the campaign team is currently divided because some groups are lamenting that they were not being carried along, alleging that the money was being pocketed by a top party chieftain in the state, who is also a member of the President’s campaign organization.
A source told Vanguard in Lafia, yesterday, that the said party member had refused to involve any other committee set up by the party to work jointly for the presidential and governorship candidates.
One of the campaign coordinators said: “They just created the sections and put us there, but they do not implement our proposals. They plan and implement their agenda. We are just figureheads.
“Some of us are making sacrifices because of our love for the party. Could you believe that they even avoided the Senator Solomon Ewuga-led Agabi governorship campaign organization?”
A source said PDP in the state was so broke that not even a jingle of the flag bearer was being aired on local radio stations, while most committees were either dissolved or suspended.
