Governor of Bauchi State Isa Yuguda has pledged his commitment and support for the been presented Organising Committee of Nigerian Unity football tournament tagged Youth for Peace and Unity Cup.

Speaking during a courtesy call by the committee to his office, the governor pledged to ensure the smooth organisation of the second edition of the tournament in the state by providing the necessary facilities and logistics for the success of the tournament.

The visit by the organising committee was to thank the governor for gracing the final of the Bauchi State leg of the tournament.

Highlight of the visit by the delegation which was led by National Project Director, Comrade Moses Ebahor and the Bauchi State co-ordinator, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim was the presentation of National Patron Award of Excellence to the Governor on youth, sports development, good governance and quality leadership.

In the Bauchi State final, Bauchi Local Government defeated Misau Local Government 5-3 on penalties to cart home a giant trophy and thus became the first state champions of the Nigeria Unity Cup.
