The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on Tuesday called for the full implementation of the 2014 National Conference (CONFAB) resolutions to achieve balanced national growth and development. Chief Victor Umeh, National Chairman of the APGA, made this call at Oba in the Palace of Igwe Peter Ezenwa during his senatorial campaign to Idemili South Council Area.
Umeh said the implementation of the 600 resolutions, which touched on all spheres of the national life, would bring about the much needed restructuring of the country. He said that the imbalance in the political structure of Nigeria and the 1999 constitution being amended presently was deigned to put some parts of the country in perpetual disadvantage.
Umeh explained that part of his mission to the Senate was to ensure that his contributions to the conference alongside with others were not swept under the carpet. “There is need to fully implement the 600 resolutions of the 2014 national conference and that is my mission to the Senate.
“Our constitution was written by the military and it was made to put some part of this country at a disadvantage because it is the basis on which our resources are shared,’’ he said.
According to him, here in the South East, we have five states with 95 councils, which is not the same with other regions.
“I need your support to go to the Senate so that we can have bold and forceful voice that is what we stand for in APGA.
“We no longer need sleeping senators, who cannot speak and stand for justice.

“Our president is sincere to effect positive change and wish to make that CONFAB document effective, that is why APGA is behind him,” he said. Also speaking, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, a member Board of Trustees of the party, described Umeh as a godly and foresight leader, who loved his people and Nigeria. Ezeonwuka called on Anambra Central people to ensure victory for APGA and continue to enjoy good relationship with the Anambra Government.
