I love the thought of a New Year. I love the notion that the good, the bad and the ugly of the past year are behind me and I can start on a new slate. It’s a form of closure and I love it. I also like the feeling of having a blank page, a white canvass to play with. I love the energy of the first few days as I try to plan the year and luxuriate on the purity of my vast, virgin canvass. In many ways, it is like a new birth.

THE All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign has expressed dismay and
disappointment at the inability of the incumbent President and presidential candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to use the opportunity offered by his campaign outings to tell Nigerians what he has done for them in the last six years.

President Jonathan had said at a PDP rally in Lagos Thursday that MEND tried to assassinate him on two separate occasions, pointing out that the leader of the organisation, Henry Okah, now serving a jail term in South Africa, was paid to assassinate him in 2010.

Barrister Andrew Oru, a senior lawyer and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Delta State came to national limelight as one of two lawyers that raised the issue of the alleged conviction of a former governor of the state. Oru who had initially aspired for the 2015 governorship ticket of the PDP subsequently became a senior adviser of one of the major aspirants, Mr. David Edevbie, a fellow Urhobo.

AHEAD of next month’s Presidential and general elections, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu has boasted that in spite of his attack on the Presidential candidate of the party, President Goodluck Jonathan, former President Olusegun Obasanjo will work assiduously for the party to win.
