THE Vice Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) and the Govermor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on Wednesday led hundreds of people in a” Walk for Change” aimed at sensitizing the populace on the February general elections and the Buhari/Osinbajo presidential candidacy.

The walk took off from the Government House, Osogbo at about 7.00 am took participants to some popular locations in Osogbo, the state capital including Okefia, Olaiya, Old Garage, Station Road and later terminated at the stadium where APC chieftains addressed the crowd.

The coordinator of the walk, who is former Special Adviser to Governor Aregbesola on Environmental Matters, Mr Bola Ilori, noted the sensitization was imperative in order to prepare the mind of the people for the dramatic change expected during the election.

He drew a distinction saying the Walk for Change ‘’is a support for Buhari/Osinbajo and it is different from the APC presidential rally”

Various groups including market women, artisans, civil society groups, youths participated in the walk.

Level of poverty

Addressing the crowd at the Main Bowl of Osogbo city Stadium, Professor Osinbajo described the level of poverty and unemployment in the country as unacceptable saying APC would provide employment to 20,000 Nigerians in each state of the federation if it won the February 14 presidential election to tackle the challenge.

Osinbajo said the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration under the leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan has lost total control of governance noting that bad leadership offered by the current leadership has brought disillusionment and untold hardship to the citizens.
