IBADAN—NATIONAL Broadcasting Commission, NBC, has expressed concern over dominance of airwaves by inciting phone-in programmes by broadcasting stations across the country, saying henceforth erring station would be liable for any violation emanating from callers in such programmes.
The warning was given yesterday by the Director General of the commission, Mr. Chris Okoyomoh at a sensitization workshop entitled 2015 general election: “Towards decency and professionalism in political broadcasts,” held in Ibadan yesterday.
He used the forum to advise politicians not to see the February election as a do-or-die affair and avoid other inciting, unpatriotic and unguided statements that could set the country on fire.
