Beware of Amaechi’s ploy, Obuah warns Ogoni

Rivers State Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Felix Obuah, has urged the people of Ogoni to beware of Governor Rotimi Amaechi’s clever ploy to trick them to support the All Progressives Congress, APC, and his failed governorship candidate.

Obuah made the call in his reaction to a meeting Governor Amaechi held with some Ogoni chiefs, elders and leaders in Government House Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

At the said meeting, Governor Amaechi was said to have promised to zone the speakership of the Rivers State House of Assembly to Ogoni and to also ensure that Mr. Dakuku Peterside hands over to an Ogoni man.

Obuah said: “It is precisely most difficult for Amaechi to choose who will be Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly and successive governors of Rivers State.

“Governor Amaechi had good opportunities to make an Ogoni man Speaker of the Assembly. He also had opportunity to give an Ogoni man the governorship ticket, but he refused, after several promises.

“Therefore, Amaechi’s latest promises are deceitful and a ploy to gain the support of the Ogoni people. Ogoni people should, therefore, not take Amaechi seriously. He is out to deceive them once more.”

Obuah assured the people of Ogoni that their environmental and political desires can only be actualised under the PDP.
