The Lagos State Police Command, yesterday, said it had uncovered a fake Facebook account bearing the name of its Commissioner, Mr. Kayode Aderanti.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Kenneth Nwosu, in a statement, said: “The account in question, which is CP Kayode Aderanti, was recently introduced by one shadowy character as the authentic Facebook account of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Mr. Kayode Aderanti, does not operate a Facebook account, either official or private.

“Therefore, he advises all members of the public, particu-larly Facebook users, to ignore the said account as it does not belong to Mr. Aderanti.”
