Yenagoa—Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa Stats has said that President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid could only be made possible through the collective efforts of leaders of the Ijaw nation and their sincerity of purpose.

Dickson, at the 70th birthday of former Petroleum Minister, Chief Dan Etete, tasked the people to stand up for what was right.

According to him, no one can pretend to be supporting the re-election bid of President Jonathan and in the process engage in acts that can destabilise the state for personal gains.

He said: “So, I count on all our leaders to stand up for what is right, fair, decent and protect what is good and I count on you all to continue to join us to mobilise our people in this state and outside to support the re-election of the President.

“Let me use this opportunity also to thank all our leaders, despite their retirement and challenges, who have continued to stand up to mobilise support, building networks and alliances in our country to make the dream of Jonathan’s re-election possible. I count on you all to also continue to work to support the government of this state.”
