lagos—The Executive Secretary of Apapa Local Government, Hon. Bolaji Cecilia Dada, management and staff of the council yesterday, embarked on sensitisation tour, tagged: Operation Keep Apapa Clean. The programme aims to educate residents and corporate bodies of the danger of dirty environment.

Hon. Dada, at the occasion, accused street traders of dumping refuge indiscriminately at night in street corners and inside drainage.

She said the new government is now soliciting help from the corporate bodies to clear all the dump sites in Apapa.

According to her, “If the corporate bodies see us working tirelessly, they will join us in returning Apapa to its glorious days.”

Explaining why refuge is taking over the streets, the Executive Secretary said; ”The residents prefer patronising cart pushers rather than the government assigned refuse disposed truck. These cart pushers in turn dump the garbage in various places around.”
