Awka—THE Anambra State committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, was yesterday in Awka inaugurated by the South East coordinator of APC PCC, Senator Chris Ngige.
The state council, which has Chief Chima Okafor, a former commissioner for commerce and industry during the administration of former Governor Peter Obi, also has coordinators for the three senatorial zones and many directors, including all the party’s candidates for the state and national assemblies for the February, 2015 general elections.
Ngige said at the ceremony that APC was aware of the fact that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the state were working together for President Goodluck Jonathan, noting that APC was equal to the task.
He said: “We are not afraid of their combined effort. Our presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari is a tested and trusted leader and has capacity for hard work. When he said he will tackle the issue of security, we are sure he will stop Boko Haram the way he tacked the issue of Maitasine when he was the head of state.”
According to him, APC would not relent in its effort to liberate Nigerians from the shackles of bad governance and corruption.
