2015: Shun selective voting, Abaribe tells PDP members

By Charles Kumolu

SENATE Committee Chairman on Media and Publicity, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, has called on Abia State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members to put behind any mixed feeling arising from the recent governorship primaries in the state and work towards the party’s victory in all the elections.

He particularly cautioned party faithful against selective voting, insisting that all the candidates of the party should be voted for in the various elections.

Abaribe, who said this in Lagos at a consultative forum convened by Abia Indigenes Forum, AIF, maintained that selective voting would undermine the vision of the PDP.

In his remarks, the Vice Chairman of AIF, Chief Esiaba Chris, described the PDP governorship candidate, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, as a man of vision, who should be supported.

He advised Abians to avoid being deceived by other parties, describing the PDP as Abia’s bridge to transformation.

According to him, ‘’Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu is a wonderful and warm person. He is also a statesman who has vowed to transform Abia into a modern commercial and industrial state. It is on the strength of his pedigree that we ask for massive votes for Ikpeazu. Our people should avoid the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, whose other name is crisis. Since 1999, members of APGA have been going to court.” APGA is the only party that boasts of over four national chairmen at the same time. The party is perpetually at war. That is not the kind of party Abia needs now.’’
