THE birth of a set of quadruplets was a befitting anniversary gift for the Nordica Fertility Centre, Asaba, in Delta state, as it clocked five on November 3, 2014 as a frontline fertility treatment centre in Nigeria.

As part of activities to mark the 5th anniversary, the Centre is offering generous packages on treatment procedures only. The offer which runs December 1, 2014 till February 28, 2015, is open to all patrons.

The pioneering quadruplets were conceived through In vitro Fertilization (IVF), a form of Assisted Reproductive Technology, ART, and born through Caesarean Section at a private hospital in Bayelsa State.

The lucky parents had tried for years to get pregnant before the groundbreaking treatment at the Asaba Nordica Clinic worked for them.

Dr. Abayomi Ajayi, Group Medical Director, Nordica Fertility Centre, Lagos, Abuja & Asaba, described the conception and birth of the quadruplets and the Centre’s 5th anniversary as a milestone.

He said the Asaba clinic has been at the forefront of tackling infertility as a socio-medical problem that places a lot of strain on emotions as well as relationships.

“The Asaba fertility Centre was designed to provide a ‘comfort centre’
where the pain of childless couples could be soothed emotionally and medically. It was opened in November 2009, with the primary aim of providing fertility treatment services to couples within the South East and South South regions of the country.

“In league with sister branches in Lagos and Abuja, Nordica Asaba, is enhancing fertility treatment initiatives and options in the country, utitising cutting edge procedures.”

A fertility awareness walk took place in Asaba and extended to Benin City, Onitsha, Owerri and Awka during which the Nordica group visited prominent places within Asaba and environs.
