BENIN—EDO State Commissioner in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mr.Peter Enogieru, has warned his staff to steer clear of corrupt practices that could tarnish the image of the commission.

Enogieru, who was represented at the first annual thanksgiving by a Director in the commission, Mr. Alexander Okeanwan, warned of dire consequences for involving in corrupt practices, just as he sued for support for President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda.

He acknowledged the numerous human capacity development programmes embarked upon by the NDDC, noting that the commission had commissioned numerous capacity programmes involving youth’s skills acquisition training, educational support funding overseas for undergraduates for bright indigenes students, women support and empowerment programmes and staff trainings among others.

Outlining the achievements of the Jonathan administration in several sectors of the economy, he appealed to Nigerians to support his re-election bid to further facilitate his transformation agenda for the country.

He said: “The board has pursued, completed and commissioned strategic projects that would complement the Federal Government’s entrenched transformation agendas to bring to bear, meaningful development.”

He lamented the challenge faced by the commission with regards to funding, which he said has caused serious setback on some of its projects.
