PORT HARCOURT— Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday announced, Mr Osinakachukwu Ideozu as winner of the Rivers West senatorial primary election conducted at the party’s state secretariat on Aba Road, Port Harcourt.
The Returning Officer for the election, Prof Blessing Didia, said 379 delegates were accredited and 326 voted for Mr Ideozu while Chibudom Nwuche got 44 votes to emerge a distant second, adding that Mr Willie Pepple had one vote while eight votes were voided.
He, therefore declared Ideozu winner of the election.
Meanwhile, Nwuche, who spoke to newsmen few minutes after the election commenced, said the exercise was a fraud, designed to impose an unpopular aspirant on the people.
According to him the delegates were tele-guided to vote for an unpopular aspirant, stressing that the whole exercise was a charade.
