FG insensitive to the plight of Nigerians — JOHESU

By Victoria Ojeme

Striking health workers under the auspices of Joint Health Sector Union, JOHESU, yesterday accused Nigerian government of being insensitive to the plight of Nigerians saying, “Federal Government refusal to meet with the workers will only elongate the ongoing industrial action.”
President of JOHES, Ayuba Waba, who spoke in Abuja, also raised alarm over alleged police brutality on its members in Lagos.

Waba who condemned the alleged action of the police said the act was against known ‘universal industrial relation norms.’

He warned that should the situation continue it would lead to breakdown of law and order in the country’s health institutions.

According to him, JOHESU will withdraw all its members rendering skeletal services in some hospitals across the country should the problem continues.
The JOHESU boss further advised health workers in the country to tighten their belts for what he described as ‘long full battle until victory is achieved.’
