Akure—THE crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State was laid to rest yesterday as the former state chairman, Hon. Ebenezer Alabi handed over the control of the partys machinery to the new Chairman, Hon. Clement Faboyede.
Hon. Alabi had resigned following the intervention of President Goodluck Jonathan in the furore that trailed the defection of Governor Olusegun Mimiko to the PDP.
Alabi said he threw in the towel to allow the party move forward in the state and to put an end to the lingering crisis.
The new Chairman, Faboyede and other executive committee members were received by the immediate past chairman of the party, Mr Ebenezer Alabi in the office in Akure.
Alabi, while handing over the control of the party machinery to his successor, promised to offer all the necessary support to the new executive to succeed.
Responding, Faboyede thanked his predecessor for his love for the interest of the party and promised to adopt leadership/followership approach in running the affairs of the party.
Faboyede stressed the need for all the party members both the old and the new to work closely together so that the party can record overwhelming victory in the next general elections.
