Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Peter Onwusanya, has hailed the emergence of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, as Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Delta State as a good political omen that will produce desired peace and development in the state.

Onwusanya, who made the observation in his congratulatory message to Senator Okowa who was declared the winner of PDP gubernatorial primaries in Asaba on Monday, said the outcome underscored equity and fairness that were the desires of Deltans.

While describing the result of the election as fantastic, the Speaker said: “Dr. Okowa is a political father to many politicians in Delta State and I implore him to be accommodating in victory.”

While imploring him to extend a hand of brotherliness to aspirants who contested with him, Onwusanya urged those who lost the primaries and their supporters to prepare to work with the PDP candidate to guarantee victory for the party in the main election.

Similarly, a former Commissioner for Lands in Delta State, Raymos Guanah, while congratulating Dr Okowa for the victory, enjoined him to be magnanimous in victory.

Guanah, the Deputy Director-General of Olejeme Campaign Organi-zation, urged all those who participated in the election to now sheathe their swords and work with Dr. Okowa in the interest of PDP.
