The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Kayode Aderanti, on Wednesday directed all police divisions in the state to ensure watertight security during Christmas celebration.
Aderanti said that all area commanders, divisional police officers and commanders of all police operational and other combat outfits are to ensure adequate security during the celebration.
In a statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ken Nwosu, the commissioner said that adequate attention should be given to places of worship and other public places.
“Adequate attention should be paid to places such as churches and mosques, parks, bus, train and boat terminals.

“Strategic infrastructure should be adequately protected during this period.

“All area commanders and DPOs have been enjoined to ensure visibility policing as a confidence building measure,” he said.

According to him, the measure is to ensure that all residents of Lagos State enjoy a peaceful celebration.

“I pray that the lessons of the season will serve as a turning point for mutual coexistence of residents of the centre of excellence,’’ he said.
