ABEOKUTA— National Association of Ogun State Students has slammed a-14 day ultimatum asking the state government to pay their bursaries and scholarships for 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 sessions, threatening to embark on protest.
The National President of the association, Comrade Balogun Abdulgaffar stated this yesterday at a press briefing held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists Secretariat, Abeokuta.
Abdulgaffar said that the Governor Ibikunle Amosun-led administration has been promising to pay the bursaries and scholarships without fulfilling it.
He explained that the pressure on the executive of the association is much because most students who are self-sponsored are relying on the bursary to augment their academic expenses.
