ABUJA—The Matasaan Arewa Empowerment Right Advancement Association has hailed the major opposition party in the coutry, the All Progressives Congress, APC, for successfully conducting what it callded a free, fair, transparent and credible presidential primaries.

The group in a statement by its coordinator, Alhaji Goni Nguru, said: “The emergence of General Mohammad Buhari, is not a mere coincidence in a keenly contested primaries that have five worthy aspirants as contestants. This is a clear indication of the sterling leadership qualities that he possesses.

“A primary election that had former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, among others showed that the APC has men of intellectual ability, who are all qualified to lead this great nation to the promise land.

“The successful conduct of the primaries by the party is a pointer that the party is poised to lead Nigeria out of the woods.”
