‘How the women around me reacted to my marriage to ex-beauty queen’

Rising filmmaker cum actor, Lawrence Onuzulike, a.k.a Lurrenz, who recently got married to an ex-beauty queen, Patience Yisa, after he parted ways with his former wife few years ago, has narrated how the women around him reacted when he told them that he was getting married again.

According to him, “When I did my introduction I posted the pictures on my Facebook page. Most of them refused to believe that I was getting married. In fact, they kept asking me when I am releasing the movie, though I repeatedly told them that it was a real marriage introduction and not a scene from a movie. After our court marriage I uploaded the pictures online and it was same reaction.

When we did our traditional marriage, the story was all over the place. Then, it dawn on them that I was not lying. While some of them claimed they didn’t know I would ever get married, others said, they never knew I wasn’t married. The funniest of all, another group claimed I never intimated them that I was still single. But the truth is that I’m happily married now.”

Lurrenz, an actor, musician and author, recently married his long-standing fiancee who was former Miss Culture and Tourism in Benue State. The wedding was the talk of the town in Benue.

The handsome entertainer said, before he met his wife, he never knew what true love meant. “It was after I met my wife that I realised love exists on different levels. I’ve fallen in love many times. But I never knew there are different levels of love. What I feel for her, I have never felt it for anyone in my life. I could do anything to make her smile. In fact, when she gets angry I become disoriented and the entire house appear sad. Her smile and energy electrifies the house. I’m glad God finally gave me my dream woman.”

On how he met his wife, Lurrenz who produced movies such as Market Babes, Two Lives, Charles and Sidney, Quick Laugh, among others, said he met her through a mutual friend, an ex- Super Eagle player who was visiting Nigeria at that time. “And for long it was more of phone calls and chat. What really drew me closer to her is her simplicity and humility,” he said.
