Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan yesterday put smiles on the faces of orphans as part of his diamond birthday celebration with donations of various food items including cash.
The donation to St. Anne’s Orphaage Effurun was made on behalf of the Governor by members of the Believers’ Council led by Comrade Reuben Izeze, a House of Assembly Aspirant.
Izeze while presenting the items said that the gesture was in line with the Governor’s belief in giving succour to children.
“We are here today to celebrate with our brothers and sisters who were not privileged to attend the grand celebration.
“This gesture is part of Governor Uduaghan’s birthday celebration as our father and grand patron. We are here to celebrate a man who believes in free health care and education for children.” Izeze stated.
The Ughelli-South House of Assembly aspirant said the group has made similar donations in Asaba and Isoko as part of activities to celebrate a Governor who has achieved so much.
Receiving the items, Tina Godspower commended the group for their magnanimity and prayed for the Governor.
“We are grateful to the Governor and the group who single out the orphans, it is remarkable that you are giving to the children, may God bless you.” Tina added. Items donated included several bags of rice, cartons of tin tomatoes, several cartons of Indomie, Tissue papers, cartons of vegetable and cash.
