Truck driver bathes policemen in petrol

A truck driver, Tola Omoleke, has been charged before an Oshodi Magistrate Court in Lagos for threatening the life of Assistant Superintendent of Police, James Agborun and Ali Sakiru, by pouring petrol on them.

The accused was said to have committed the alleged offence at Agege Motor Road, Oshodi. Omoleke was arraigned by the police on a six-count charge of threat to life and reckless driving.

However, when the charge was read to him, he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Kehinde Olatunde, informed the court that the offence was punishable under Section 238 (F) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State Nigeria, 2011.

Magistrate Nurudeen Owolabi granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 and adjourned to November 7.
