Former Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), Alhaji Sani Ahmed Toro has applauded the surprise presidential recall of the sacked Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi, saying, it was for the good of the game in the country.

The former Bauchi State Commissioner of Sports who spoke to Sports Vanguard on phone yesterday also described the withdrawal of the case instituted against the Nigeria Football federation by Chris Giwa as a good development

Alhaji Toro had earlier expressed his resentment over the sacking of the Super Eagles Afcon 2013 winning coach, Keshi saying, “I am not happy. The NFF are not fair to him and they are not fair to Nigerian coaches”

But yesterday when the news of the Presidential order to reinstate Keshi reached him, he said, “ I am happy that he is back and first, I want him to concentrate and win the remaining two matches and ensure Nigeria’s qualification for next year’s African Nations Cup in Morocco”.

He advised Keshi to put behind him whatever setback he must have had and get down to the job.

“He shouldn’t blame anybody for that setback he had”, he said, adding that this was the right time for him to develop our game.

Continuing, he said, “on the withdrawal of the case in court, it’s a good development and the important thing is for all the factions to work together as a team so that we move our football forward”.

He cautioned that the two factions, Amaju Pinnick and Chris Giwa should not use that as an opportunity to put themselves in certain positions. Now that the case has been withdrawn from court, he urged Nigerians to support the new board for the progress of the football in the country.
