Jere groups fault Suleiman on proposed Gurara State

KADUNA—The two major native groups that make up Jere Chiefdom, in Kagargo Local Government Area. LGA, of Kaduna State, yesterday, disassociated themselves from a statement credited to one Alhaji Hayutteen Sulieman, to the effect that Jere people were against the creation of the proposed Gurara State out of the present Kaduna State.

Speaking at a joint news conference in Kaduna yesterday, the Gbagyi and Koro people said they make make up 95 per cent population of Jere Chiefdom, and were in total support for the creation of the new state, with the present 13 LGAs that make up Southern Kaduna as the components.

The Chairman, Gbagyi Development Union, Mr. John Bako, and his Secretary, Mr. Joseph Gajere spoke on behalf of the Gbagyi natives while the National President, Koro Community Development Association, Dr. Ayuba Kura and his Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Haruna spoke on behalf of the Koro people.
