BENIN—Edo State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Mr. Chris Okaeben, has urged Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state to join hands with the Governor Adams Oshiomhole-led administration in bringing development to the people instead of plunging the state into unnecessary crisis.
Okaeben, who spoke yesterday when he formally declared his interest to run for the House of Assembly seat for Oredo West constituency, told supporters that the All Progressives Congress, APC-led administration in the state meant well for the people.
He added that his conviction that the state government meant well that led to his decision to run for the Assembly seat to contribute his quota to the development of the state.
Earlier, Chairman of APC in the local government area, Dr. Godwin Okoro, said the decision of the aspirant to declare his intention before his ward members and the party at the local government level, showed his respect for party supremacy.
He said all aspirants would be given equal opportunity to try out their popularity at the party primaries.
