The Ogun State government has set up a monitoring committee to look into the level of compliance of both public and private schools in Ogun state.
The President, National Association of Proprietors of Private schools in Ogun State, Dr. Abayomi Jiboku disclosed this during the annual NAPPS day celebration held in Abeokuta.
The committee, according to Dr. Jiboku was saddled with the responsibility of going round the schools in the state to check whether the schools have all the Ebola preventive measures or not .
The President who however, lamented the high rate of mushroom schools abound the state, urged the government to apply sanctions against the quacks.
Dr. Jiboku who spoke in the presence of the representative of the state governor, Chief of Staff to the governor, Prof, Ganiyu Olatunde, the state commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Segun Odubela, the former World Judge, Bola Ajibola among others said many unapproved private schools operate under trees.
While speaking on the theme; The role of Education in tackling health and security hazards in society, Dr. Jiboku said the government was able to curb the Spread of Ebola because of the adequate information it gave out.
He however, solicited for cohesion within the association to sustain the recognition and privilege it enjoyed with the government.
The government, in its remark, promised to continue making the state more conducive for the private sectors to operate.
Prof Ganiyu Olatunde said the government was appreciative of the contributions of the private proprietors in the state and would neither discourage nor make business difficult for them.
