Declare now, group tells Bomadi PDP Chair

BOMADI—THE Bomadi Local Government Chapter Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  Mr. Pius Labo, has received the support of a renowned grassroots-based women’s group, under the auspices of South-South Ladies, Bomadi Local Government Area, Delta State, calling on him to declare for the state House of Assembly seat in 2015 in the interest of the constituency.

South-South Ladies, led by its president, Mrs. Esther Apare, who made the call in Bomadi during the recent PDP sensitisation exercise in the local government area, said the call became necessary in view of the need to redeem Bomadi constituency from the burden of underdevelopment, which the group said “was occasioned by bad leadership.”

Labo, according to the women group, is a loyal PDP stalwart who has worked hard to sustain the unity of the party in the local government, emphasising that “over the years, as chairman of the party, has displayed leadership qualities that made him popular .

“We admire his humanitarian convictions and the political astuteness to represent the people of Bomadi Constituency in the state House of Assembly.”

South-South Ladies, whose membership cuts across all the wards in Bomadi local government is made up of mainly energetic young women who are professionals in various fields of human endeavour. She also promised  the PDP’s commitment to continue to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.

In their remarks, Mr Michael Diden, commissioner on the of   DESOPADEC, Sir Edward Gbragada and Mr Dio Tanger, commended Mrs. Ogbemi-Barlow for her courage to contest the House of Representatives election in the constituency and urged her to widen her consultations to ensure her victory.
