The Executive Committee of Uvwie Traditional Council of Chiefs, at its recent meeting at the temporary palace of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, decided that the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, FUPRE, retain its name and not named after Ugbomro, as being canvassed by some interest groups.

During the meeting of the meeting, the Ovie of Uvwie, HRM Emmanuel Sideso, said the univer-sity was better off without bickering over name.

Chief Isaac Iteke, the Secretary of the council, told journalists it was the unanimous decision of the expanded executive committee of the council that the university remains FUPRE.
