Boko Haram insurgents closing on Mubi, Vimtim, other

Yola – Following days of bombardment on the hideouts of Boko Haram by the Nigerian military, fleeing insurgents have attacked Uba town and other adjourning villages along the Michika-Madagali-Borno axis.

Another report has it that the fleeing insurgents are closing on Mararaba Mubi, Vimtim and Mubi even as the casualty figures in Uba town is yet to be ascertained, though local residents claimed that it is on a high side.

Already Mubi, the commercial nerve centre and second biggest town in Adamawa is deserted by residents for the second time in three months, even as three higher institutions there have been forced to close down again.
