WARRI— FORMER Commissioner of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Mr. Ada Arenyeka, Monday, visited the  Olu of Warri, His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse II in order to receive  blessings for his ambition to represent the Warri Federal Constituency in  the House of Representatives next year.

Areyenka, who was led by a former Chief of Staff to the Delta State Government, Mr. Solomon Arenyeka, said he  was in the palace to notify the monarch about his aspiration.

Giving account of his stewardship  while in NDDC , Arenyeka stated that he attracted  developmental projects to  Warri,  adding that the Koko-Ogheye road project was prominent among them.

He said: “When I assumed duty as NDDC Commissioner, my preoccupation was on how we could link the riverine communities with the mainland. I started-off with the Koko Ogheye road project. With the aid of the Netherlands Group Design, which was originally initiated by the late Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh, thus I started the spade work for the Phase 1 of the project which encompasses 15.4km with a major bridge that was to link the Ologbo Bridge.”

He also commended  the monarch for what he described as   regal disposition and wisdom in insisting that the constituency  be effectively represented.

The House of Representatives hopeful promised that if elected, he would lobby his colleagues, to ensure the speedy dredging of the Warri and Koko seaports.

The monarch, who blessed  Arenyeka urged him to continue to be upright in his service to the nation.

Continuing, he said  that the Arenyeka  family had contributed immensely to the development of Itsekiri nation.
