Chekwas Okorie

ABUJA—The National Chairman of United Progressive Party, UPP, Chief Chekwas Okorie, yesterday said statement credited to former Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State on the situations in the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, had vindicated his position on the party.
Chief Okorie, who was the founder and pioneer National Chairman of APGA, said the party was now a carcass, having lost its members to UPP with a tiger head as its logo.
It would be recalled that Mr. Obi, while defending his defection from APGA to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, following criticism by Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, that he betrayed her husband, the late Dim Odumegwu-Ojukwu, admitted that the party was no longer what it used to be when he made the pledged.
