ABEOKUTA — The president, Ogun State Baptist conference,   Rev. Adesegun Jaiyesimi, has  called on Nigerians to vote out bad leaders at all levels of government in the 2015 general elections.

Jaiyesimi  also called on the Federal Government to treat the issue of the Boko Haram insurgents with all seriousness.
The cleric stated this  at a briefing in Abeokuta  ahead of its 37th conference at Owu Baptist Church with  the theme, ‘Church and Family Ministry,’ where he stated  the position of the church on some local and national issues.

Speaking on 2015 elections, Jaiyesimi said it would give Nigerians the opportunity to elect credible people and also vote out corrupt leaders.
He said: “I urge all Nigerians to make the best use of their votes to move this nation forward by bringing to governance leaders, who can make positive impact in the lives of the people. And by the same token, they should also vote out bad leaders.”

While commenting on terrorism, Jaiyesimi said the leaders in the country  must confront the insurgency with all seriousness, saying, “the issue of terrorism is compromising the nation’s territorial integrity.”
The cleric, who commended the Federal Government on the efforts so far made on containing the spread of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease, said the church has also intensified awareness campaign on the disease.
