TAN postpones Abuja rally

By Emma Ujah,   Abuja Bureau Chief

ABUJA—The Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN, has postponed, indefinitely, its Abuja grand finale rally, the Director of Public Communications and Strategy of TAN, Dr. Udenta Udenta has said.

Udenta told journalists that the organisers decided to postpone the rally to give room for more endorsements of President Jonathan as, according to him, the grand finale would end all endorsements and begin a new process.

He also challenged critics of the umbrella body of pro-Jonathan organisations to produce evidence that it was being funded with government money.
He insisted that TAN was being funded purely by private individuals who believe the president has performed well and should be supported.

He said: “Our funding is private. Not one penny is from government. I have said this several times and there has been no contrary evidence. Anyone with contrary evidence should put it forward.”
