..over 2,203 babies vaccinated

Asaba — THE National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, has inaugurated a Steering Committee in Delta State, with a call on the members to brace up to the challenge of developing a work plan towards the successful implementation of its SURE-P Maternal and Child Health, MCH, Conditional Cash Transfer, CCT, programme in the state.

CCT State Technical Officer of SURE-P MCH programme, Tejiri Enaworu in her presentation at the inauguration, said that the committee has an audacious task of improving on the successes already recorded, noting the state was already doing well in that direction.

She noted that four (Primary Health Care centres) PHCs located at West End, Oko-Amakom, Okwe and Umuagu centres recorded huge success in 2013.
According to her, “2013 saw a total of 793 women attending their first antenatal clinic visits; 353 women delivering with skilled attendance; 2,203 newborns receiving zero-dose oral polio vaccine; 262 women attending family planning services for counselling, and received free services.”
