Niamey – Niger on Sunday got a new presidential Boeing 737-700, BBJ (Boeing Business Jet) and which was received by the Defence Minister, Mahamadou Karidjo.
The jet was acquired at a cost 20 billion CFAF, official sources said on Monday.
The new aircraft, called “Mont Greboun’’, is the second presidential airplane acquired by the Government.
The first, nicknamed “Mont Bagazam’’, has been in service since 1978.
According to the plane’s commanding officer, Col. Boulama Issa, the third-generation aircraft has capacity for 24 passengers.
