The Academy that marks the last camping for finalists in the ongoing MTN Football Scholar Season 4 is currently bubbling with 21 starlets, who made it from the preliminaries to the final stage.
This year edition of MTN Football Scholar which commenced in April with auditions in six cities of Port Harcourt, Calabar, Enugu Abuja, Akure and Lagos saw the organizers combing the nooks and crannies of the country to bring together thousands of not just young football talents but also kids who have the academic capacity to have a place in an American University.
At present, the 21 successful candidates from the initial auditions, trials and camping in this year’s edition, where they passed through rigorous and effective trainings in both football and academic works are in the camp to undergo further preparations for SAT examinations s and acquire more soccer instructions to qualify them for an America scholarship.
Meanwhile, the youngsters have continued to express their optimism in the project as well as their joy for the opportunity provided by the telecommunications company to have a qualitative education while fulfilling their dreams of becoming a soccer star.
Yahaya Abdumalik, an 18-year-old talented youngster who attended National High School Port Harcourt has declared that he was well-positioned to make it to the next level in life.
“I am very sure I have the football skills as well as the academic potentials to make it to the final stage and be in the US next year courtesy MTN. I am preparing well for my SAT examinations and I belief by God’s grace I will come out in flying colours”.
