Lesotho’s exiled Prime Minister Tom Thabane has asked the southern African regional bloc SADC to send peacekeeping troops to his country following an apparent coup, his aide said on Monday.
“The situation is out of hand. You need an intervention force,” Samonyane Ntsekele, the premier’s advisor told AFP in Pretoria, where the 15-member SADC was holding emergency talks on the crisis.
