Port Harcourt – The Manager, Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt, Stanley Eguma, on Thursday urged the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) to sign a new contract with the Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi.

Eguma made the call in Port Harcourt while reacting to the Nigeria/South Africa Nations Cup qualifying match played in Cape Town on Wednesday.

“I recommend that the first thing the new NFA board should do is to sign a new contract with coach Stephen Keshi.

“If that is done, I bet you, Nigerians will see a new Super Eagles. The team has not yet settled because of some administrative problems.

“I believe that the Eagles can still make it in their group. It is a big challenge, but it is possible to achieve,’’ he said.

Eguma said the game against South Africa was not easy for the Eagles because they were not settled.

He urged Keshi to invite Spain-based striker, Ike Uche to combine with other attackers in the team.

“I join other Nigerians in pleading with Keshi to forgive Ike Uche and bring him back to the national team. This is the time we need him to play with other colleagues and get results for us.

“As a coach, I believe that the Eagles will rediscover their rhythm and spring surprises. Remember, it is not over until it is over,’’ Eguma said.
