ABUJA—SENATE President, Senator David Mark, said yesterday, that he would use every available means to ensure that more states were created to correct the imbalance in the polity.

Mark, who gave the assurance when four members of the House of Representatives and nine chairmen of local government councils from Benue South senatorial district visited him in Abuja, said it was the desire of most Nigerians to have additional states to correct the imbalance and give every Nigerian a sense of belonging in the system.

He said it was the legitimate demand of the agitators, adding that even if it took his last breath, he would pursue the creation of the state.
“I will put in my last breath to ensure the creation of Apa State for my people,” the Senate President vowed.

Responding to the call by his constituents to contest the 2015 senatorial seat the fifth time, Senator Mark told his people:  “I am a loyal, faithful and dedicated party man; I will only make my intention  known when the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, releases the guidelines and programme for the elections.”
