Worried by the spate of boat mishaps on the Bonny River in Rivers State, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), Senator Magnus Abe has blamed the challenges facing the people on Federal Government’s failure to complete the Bodo-Bonny Road.

Abe also advised churches and organisations against accepting gifts from politicians without ascertaining the source of acquisition, especially as the country approaches electioneering period.

He spoke at the 2014 Harvest Thanksgiving Service of St. Stephen’s Anglican Cathedral in Bonny.
Senator Abe, who is also the Chancellor, Diocese of Ogoni (Ang. Comm.),  observed a minute of silence in honour of those that died in the recent boat mishap on Bonny River.
