WARRI—OGBE-Ijoh in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, has alleged five youths of the community are missing following a clash with their Itsekiri counterparts in Warri.

Addressing newsmen in Ogbe-Ijoh, yesterday, the community’s Governing Council, Ogbe-Ijoh Youths Council and the Ijaw Youths Council, IYC, charged the state government and security agencies to prevail on perceived abductors of the youths to release them and return valuables carted away from them without delay.

Chairman, Ogbe-Ijoh Governing Council, Mr. Lucky Oromoni, President-General, Ogbe-Ijoh Youths Council, Mr. Christmas James and Chairman, Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom chapter of the IYC, Mr Liberty Arerebo condemned the said attack.

According to the community representatives, the youths of the community were returning from a Monday meeting with an oil servicing firm, Saipem in the Warri Ports premises when they were allegedly attacked by their Itsekiri neighbours.

“We cannot find Boma Ebiarede, Daubiri Wuruakpo, Zitangbei Doutimi, Ditorusin Lawyerwei and Krokongha Biniebi since then. We have reported the matter and up till now, we are yet to see the youths.”

Reacting to the development, Mr Celestina Kalu, the state Police Public Relations Officer, said: “The Warri Area Commander has invited the two communities for dialogue. It is a small issue. About 30 people entered the place and 30 people left. Nobody is missing.”
