Green, Ahmed file appeal against ban

Suspended Executive Member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Christopher Green and Yusuf Ahmed have sent a letter of appeal to the NFF Appeals Committee.

Green and Ahmed were on Thursday, suspended by the NFF  from football activities for six months and one year respectively for anti-board activities.

According to the appeal letter to the Chairman Appeals Committee, dated 7th August,  the duo said  that their suspension was unlawfully.

Consequently, they have asked the Appeals Committee to expedite action on their case, arguing that six members do not make up the required number to place a ban on them.  The letter titled “Joint appeal against the decision taken by six members of the NFF 13-member executive Committee” reads in part:

“That these six members Executive Committee erred by not informing the appellants of the said allegation or given notice of meeting to members at least seven clear days before Executive Committee meeting in contravention of article 35(3) of NFF statutes.

“The said allegations were not listed in the agenda for the meeting where the members were suspended.
“The six-man Executive Committee members did not give the said suspended members fair hearing and the decision for the suspension was not based on any evidence before the same body.
