A non-governmental organisation, UK Vanguard, based in the United Kingdom has endorsed the candidature of Mr. Tony Obuh, as the next governor of Delta State, come 2015 general elections.
Co-ordinator of the group, Mr Charles Obu, in a statement, said Obuh, who hails from Ika in Delta North, and presently the Permanent Secretary to the state government, has a lengthy working relationship with Governor Emanuel Uduaghan.
“He earned his reputation as a hard working public servant, first as a Director in the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, when Uduaghan held that position during the tenure of Chief James Ibori, and then as Permanent Secretary when he became governor. With many years of service and experience, Obuh will enhance economic growth and development of our state.
“It is clear that Obuh has all the qualities to move the state forward. We in the Diaspora see him as calculative and energetic public servant whose attributes have greatly endeared him to the people of Delta State. We have no other alternative than to support him. He is a candidate who is capable of creating jobs for our youths and opening up industries for our economy to thrive”
