Olawoyin Awosika School of Innovative Studies (OASIS) has opened its educational doors to students who are interested in increasing their knowledge on business ideas and innovations in Lagos.
OASIS, a National Diploma awarding institution which offers business related programmes approved by the National Board of Technical Education and the Federal Ministry of Education respectively.
To further strengthen its frontiers, the Olawoyin Awosika School of Innovative Studies (OASIS) has recently signed a partnership agreement with University of Nicosia Cyprus (UNIC) for the use of OASIS facilities as a UNIC learning centre. UNIC offers a number of online programmes in the blended delivery format at the OASIS facility in Nigeria.
UNIC is a top private university in Cyprus, registered with the Universities Registry of the Ministry of Education and Culture by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus. It offers undergraduate and post graduate degree programmes in Business Administration, Educational Leadership and Administration, and a host of other courses.
The UNIC, whose objectives, amongst other things include the empowerment of young Nigerians, offers scholarships of up to 80% to qualified students to enroll in programmes of their choice. According to Professor Abiola Awosika, the Executive Director of OASIS, “Nicosia offers scholarships up to 80% of the tuition fees to qualified students” and “the UNIC scholarships are available right here in Nigeria”, Professor Awosika further affirms.
Professor Dr. Cedric Bell the UNIC representative in the UK and Ireland during his visit to the OASIS campus welcomed the partnership, which became effective June 2014, between the School of Innovative Studies and the University of Nicosia and expressed the sincere wish that it would quickly and fully achieve the inspirational goals set and that the availability of Nicosia degrees in Nigeria will significantly strengthen and enhance the country’s human capital resource and make a contribution to the attainment by Nigeria of its Millennium Goal of the vision 20-2020.
This is indeed an opportunity for Nigerians to get apt and up to date training in Business, Management, Information Technology and some others.
This opportunity helps the average Nigerian student to become equipped for the challenges of the country, to develop skill in entrepreneurship and for corporate capabilities. Students will also have the option of transferring from the Nigerian study centre to other study centers within and outside Africa eventually for a rich practical educational experience.
