NCS to honour Obi at 2014 national conference

THE Nigerian Computer Society,NCS, has said that it would honour a former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter  Obi at its 2014 National Conference, for making Anambra an information technology viable state.
Briefing newsmen in Lagos, NCS President, Prof David Adewumi, said the recognition was in line with the association’s practice of celebrating heroes in the sector.

His words: “NCS is committed to facilitating the development of digital and Internet based technologies to not only drive improvement, but to change and redirect our energy on how Nigeria is defined, organised and delivered.

“NCS builds thought leadership through emphasis on relevance and significance in using IT to enable inclusive and sustainable development.”
“Broadband access for all, strategies and tactics, business process outsourcing, e-government solutions, improving transparency and public sector service delivery through technology, security issues in the knowledge based economy, among others will take centre stage during the conference.

“This recognition is in line with the association’s strategy of celebrating heroes in the sector to stimulate outstanding performances that will drive real, inclusive development and transformation in Nigeria through IT.
“Broadband access for all, strategies and tactics, business process outsourcing, e-government solutions, improving transparency and public sector service delivery through technology, security issues in the knowledge based economy, among others will take center stage during the conference.”
