Lagos — AS residents, motorists, business owners and workers continue to grapple with the traffic gridlock on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, investigations revealed that the contractor engaged by the Federal Government to repair failed portions at the Apapa end of the expressway has mobilized to site.

At a stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos, the contractor was given two weeks to conclude repair works on the road.
The contractor, Borini Prono, whose equipment and workers were sighted by Vanguard at the Tin Can Island Port gate, Creek Road and Trinity Bus stop, has begun filling the failed portions with concrete.

One of the workers, who spoke to Vanguard on the condition of anonymity, said equipment were moved to site on Sunday following a directive from the Presidency to the management of  the company.
Speaking to Vanguard on the need to have the road fixed, Senior Special Assistant to the President on maritime matters, Mr Oyeleke Oyewole, said the president had expressed concern over the bad state of the road leading to the port.
